Coronavirus Statement

CORONAVIRUS UPDATES: CLASSES, MEETINGS & EVENTS Updates
Reminder - Governor Abbott came out last week with a Declaration of Health Disaster yesterday.  Part of his statement says that if you CAN work from home, to please do so.  Luckily, we were already working towards that direction.  Our main county and some surrounding are also under shelter-in-place.  Though real estate is deemed as essential in the Brazos County order, we strongly encourage you to work from home and stay put as much as humanly possible.  The health and safety of our members and staff is a top priority.

Office changes:

  • Currently through at least when the shelter-in-place is lifted - Our staff will all work from home.  The office will be fully closed to members.  IF you need something and we cannot do it remotely, we may be able to set up something for you but we want to limit travel and contact with others right now.  Phones WILL be forwarded to our cell phones and will be in operation 8-5, M-F.  We are also remote accessing our computers and answering emails like normal

Finally, stay informed and stay home. The situation is rapidly changing. The Bryan-College Station Regional Association of REALTORS® will continue to update our members as new information becomes available.

MLS Changes:

  • MLS Dues - There will be NO late fees or suspension fees for 2Q MLS dues.  Autopay will run on April 10 (instead of March 25).  Suspensions will take place on April 15 and final terminations on April 27.  IF you rejoin after termination, you will have to pay a $50 rejoin plus prorated MLS dues.  This is a huge departure from what we normally do and our MLS Board feels strongly that this is a good first way we can help members out.
  • Fines - Our fine structure has also been relaxed.  You will receive courtesy notices stating what is incorrect with listings and we still expect for you to fix mistakes.  However, the ONLY fines in place at this point will be related to security (sharing keys, sharing MLS login, security codes in remarks).
  • Active Listings w/o Showing - You may also leave your listings as ACTIVE in the system, even if your seller does not want showings at this time.  You are requested to put it in the private remarks, stating at what date showings will be allowed again.  You are also encouraged to put a virtual tour link in the remarks so people can still 'see' your property.

Changes/cancellations:

  • Classes - ALL classes from now through April 30 are cancelled. We are partnering with TexasRealEstate.education, a CE provider, who is providing a 20% discount to all BCSRAOR members. The courses are held live online and meet all TREC requirements.  You can access the schedule by clicking HERE. Use coupon code BCSRAOR to get your discount. You can take any course offered online from home or your office!
  • Committee Meetings – All committee meetings will be moved into a virtual setting via Zoom at the date/time they were already scheduled at. Committee chairs have been notified of this and emails will be sent out with login credentials for those meetings.
  • Events –
    • Cancelled events – March 28, Pics with the Easter Bunny; April 8, Trolls World Tour Movie Premier
    • Rescheduled events – March 26, REALTOR®/Builder Spring Mixer is rescheduled to Thursday, April 30
