2019 Committee Descriptions:
ATTENDANCE & HOSPITALITY: (Theresa Clark, 1st Alliance Mortgage-Chair)
Provides volunteer support at special events and other Association functions and acts as hosts for monthly luncheon meetings. A great committee for getting to know other members. Help coordinate programs for the monthly luncheon meetings. Member of this committee may also be called on to help other committees with sign in and registration at their events. This committee is active throughout the year.
COMMERCIAL & LAND: (Scott Lovett, Clark Isenhour Real Estate Services)
Defines how the Association and MLS can provide more effective service to commercial and land practitioners.
#BCSREALTORSGIVEBACK: (Rachel Carrabba, RE/MAX 2020 & Cynthia Stasny, Keller Williams Brazys Valley - Co-Chairs)
Promotes better relations between REALTOR® and general public. Promotes the professionalism and integrity of the REALTOR® profession. Plan projects and activities that will contribute to the building and maintenance of a better community for all.
Newly restructured committee now includes:
- Fun Run - projected to be in April 2019
- Bryan ISD Hope's Locker - newly started clothing closet
- Bowl for Brazos Valley Veterans - June 7, 2019 at Grand Station Entertainment
- B/CS Habitat for Humanity Work - throughout the year
- Salvation Army Bell Ringing - each December
EDUCATION: (Linda Salvato, BHG Preferred Living-Chair)
Participates in the planning and implementation of orientation, educational seminars, workshops, designation and CE courses
GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS: (Trey Thurmond, BHHS Caliber Realty-Chair)
Sees that members and the public are better informed regarding important legislative and regulatory issues. Will include the follow responsibilities: Establish a formalized reporting process for upcoming issues, Monitor local newspaper legal notices, Request our TREPAC chair to file a report on issues to membership after state meetings, Contact those REALTORS® that have elected or appointed positions to report issues to Association, Inform members of the public on all critical property rights issues, Post information to website and create links and Request issues mobilization funds from TAR as needed.
REALTOR®/BUILDER: (Kristi Fox Satsky, CENTURY 21 Beal-Chair)
Promote closer cooperation between REALTORS® and Builders and works with both groups in the promotion of home sales. This committee is usually active in the spring and fall.
TREPAC & TREPAC FUNDRAISING: (Kathy Massey, CENTURY 21 Beal-Chair)
Solicits funds from REALTOR® members and conduct fundraisers to contribute to TREPAC (Texas Association of REALTORS® Political Action Committee), which will then be contributed to the campaigns of candidates who have shown their concern for responsible government, the preservation of private property rights and the real estate industry. Also, to educate the membership of the purpose, effectiveness, structure and record of TREPAC. This committee is active throughout the year.
